Wolfson D/A converter: The heart of the Special Edition. Rotel replaced the original Burr-Brown chip with a superior-sounding, high-performance converter from Wolfson. This ensures even finer resolution, more precise spatiality, and a musical flow that sets new standards in this price range.
Oversized power supply: A powerful toroidal transformer and low-ESR capacitors from Rubicon guarantee an extremely stable power supply. Four independent voltage regulators supply the digital and analog sections separately to eliminate interference.
Precision drive: The RCD-06 SE uses a high-quality loading mechanism known for its fast read time and high scanning reliability. The solid sheet steel housing minimizes vibrations that could interfere with the laser.
12V trigger input: A feature that many entry-level devices lack: the trigger input allows the CD player to be perfectly integrated into a Rotel system and switches on and off synchronously with the amplifier.
Purist concept: Rotel deliberately avoids sound-impairing extras or unnecessary outputs. There is no headphone output and no MP3 functionality – the focus is 100% on the best possible playback of audio CDs.
