FAQ
A. I’m not getting a picture on the TV. What can I do?
Check the selected channel on the TV and the cable connection from the playback device to the TV. Are the cables firmly plugged in? Does it work with a different cable? Is the correct AV channel set on the TV?
Special case with a VCR: The VCR menu appears, but there’s no picture from the cassette being played.
In this case, it’s often due to a dirty video head. If you experience this problem, feel free to contact us directly. In most cases, a professional cleaning of the video drum is required.
B. The device does not respond to the remote control.
The batteries are inserted correctly, but the device doesn’t respond to the remote control.
In this case, check the user manual to see if the remote control can be switched to a different code. Sometimes, there is also a switch on the device itself to change the remote control code.
C. My hard disk recorder / DVD recorder / VCR no longer receives any channels.
In Germany, the analog cable signal and the DVB-T1 signal have been switched off. Therefore, it’s no longer possible to receive channels with analog devices (certain DVD and hard disk recorders / all VHS devices). If you’ve ensured that your device supports digital signals and it still doesn’t receive any, check the antenna cable. If that doesn’t help either, it’s advisable to consult a specialist.
D. Can I still record TV programs with my analog hard disk recorder / VCR / DVD recorder?
In principle, yes. You need an external digital receiver with a SCART output. These receivers usually cost in the mid double-digit range. Ideally, the recording device should have two SCART sockets or an AV input.
E. My analog hard disk recorder / VCR / DVD recorder doesn’t record even though a digital receiver is connected.
In this case, check whether the correct channel is set on the recording device. If the SCART cable from the digital receiver is plugged into the AV2 socket of the recording device, AV2 must be selected on the recorder. The digital receiver must be switched on.
Also, make sure the recording medium is not write-protected.
