The Pioneer CT-777, which was launched in the early 1990s, remains a highly regarded cassette deck among hi-fi enthusiasts to this day. The "Reference Master" drive with dual capstan drive

The heart of the CT-777 is its excellent drive.
- Closed-loop dual capstan drive: Two pressure rollers and two capstan shafts (one before and one after the tape head) ensure consistently tight and stable tape guidance. This drastically minimizes wow and flutter, resulting in an extremely clear and stable sound image.
- Reference Master Mechanism: This highly precise and durable drive, developed by Pioneer, was only used in the brand's high-end decks. It is known for its robustness and reliability. A 3-motor drive ensures precise control of the tape reels and capstan drive.
Three-head system for optimal recording quality

The CT-777 is a 3-head deck, which means it has separate heads for recording, playback, and erasing.
- Rear tape monitoring: This allows you to check the recording in real time and compare it with the original signal (the "source"). This means you can hear how the result will sound on tape while recording and adjust the level perfectly.

Super Auto BLE – Automatic tape calibration

High-quality construction and damping
