High Speed Linear Access System: Technics opted for a magnetic linear motor instead of gears. The result is extremely fast access times (track changes in fractions of a second) and a very long drive life.
FF-1 laser scanner (Fine Focus): Technics' proprietary single-beam laser system ensures extremely precise focusing. This results in excellent error correction and scanning reliability, even with slightly damaged CDs.
Prism viewing window: A real design highlight of the 1980s: a prism integrated into the tray that allows you to see the rotating CD while it is playing thanks to internal lighting.
Super Clean Digital Filter: The combination of a high-quality digital filter and the proven Burr-Brown D/A converter (PCM54) ensures phase-linear playback and the typical, powerful Technics sound of this era.
Extensive FL display: The large, multi-color display offers a "Music Matrix" (display of up to 20 tracks) and provides clear information about playing time, index, and programming.
Low-resonance housing: Compared to the smaller models, the SL-P500 has a heavier, reinforced chassis and special damping feet to keep vibrations away from the sensitive laser.
