Onkyo TA-W30 — double cassette deck with high-speed dubbing, Dolby B/C and auto tape selector

If you want to copy cassettes or play whole collections back to back, the Onkyo TA-W30 is a practical choice: a double cassette deck with two complete transports in one black cabinet, each with its own 2-motor computer control. Deck A handles playback including automatic music search (AMCS), while deck B records and plays — high-speed dubbing copies recordings straight from deck A to deck B, either at normal or double speed. The auto tape selector detects the inserted tape type on its own, so normal, chrome and metal tapes run correctly without any extra setting.

Highlights & Features:

Double-deck layout with two separate transports: deck A for playback, deck B for playback and recording — each transport with its own 2-motor computer control for reliable tape handling.
High-speed dubbing: copy from deck A to deck B at normal or double speed (dubbing speed normal/high) — copies without a second unit and in half the time.
AMCS (Auto Music Control System): the music search detects the gaps between tracks and jumps directly to the next or previous track start.
Play A→B: at the end of deck A the playback switches automatically to deck B — continuous listening across two cassettes without swapping.
Dolby B and Dolby C noise reduction clearly lower the typical tape hiss, with Dolby C working more strongly than Dolby B; the mode is chosen with the B / OFF / C switch.
Auto tape selector: the deck recognises normal, chrome and metal tapes automatically and sets playback accordingly.
Microphone input with its own input level control on the front for voice recordings or overdubs; the auto space function inserts short blank sections between recordings.
Multi-function display with peak level meter for left and right channel (scale from −20 to +6 dB) and a tape counter for quick orientation.
Headphone output on the front plus RI connector (Onkyo Remote Interactive) for integration into an Onkyo system chain.
