New Class A technology: Technics' patented Synchro Bias Circuit eliminates the switching distortion (transition distortion) that occurs in conventional Class B amplifiers. The result is an extremely clean, detailed sound that combines the advantages of Class A with high efficiency.
Computer Drive Monitor: A special feature of the X series: internal monitoring electronics continuously monitor the quiescent current, temperature, and load impedance. The status (e.g., "Pre-Heat" when switching on or "Auto" during operation) is visualized via LEDs on the front panel.
Phono input (MM): For analog enjoyment, a low-noise equalizer preamplifier for MM cartridges is available, which reproduces the sound of your record collection faithfully.
Linear Feedback: This circuit technology ensures extremely low distortion and high damping. This allows for precise control of the speakers, resulting in tight and dry bass.
Video/Aux & CD input: In addition to the classic inputs, the SU-V1X offers special high-level inputs (some gold-plated) designed for the high dynamics of digital sources such as CD players or (at the time) hi-fi video recorders.
