Denon DCD-800NE — CD player with Advanced AL32 Processing Plus and front USB

Sound processing the Denon way: inside the DCD-800NE, Advanced AL32 Processing Plus expands the CD’s 16-bit data to 32 bits and oversamples the signal 16 times. The interpolation algorithm derives additional points from many surrounding samples so that playback stays as close as possible to the original waveform. Two separate crystal oscillators clock the conversion depending on the sampling frequency; the master clock sits right next to the D/A converter and keeps jitter low.

Besides CD, CD-R and CD-RW — including discs with MP3 or WMA files — the player also accepts memory sticks via the USB port on the front, supporting WAV, FLAC, AAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF and DSD up to 5.6 MHz. For focused listening there is Pure Direct: the display goes dark and, if desired, the digital output stops as well. This makes the Denon a source for stereo systems meant to combine calm CD reproduction with modern file formats in one unit.
