Philips DCC 951 Digital Compact Cassette Recorder – digital cassette recorder with DCC and analog playback

As a digital cassette recorder from the 900 series, the Philips DCC 951 records onto Digital Compact Cassette using 18-bit PASC coding. In addition to DCC tapes it also plays back conventional analog compact cassettes, so an existing tape collection stays usable; Dolby B/C noise reduction is available for playback of analog cassettes. The coaxial and optical digital inputs allow lossless transfer from external digital sources, while a microphone input and adjustable headphone output on the front panel give direct control while recording and monitoring.

This makes the unit suitable both for digitally archiving your own recordings onto DCC and for playing back an existing tape collection on one machine, for example to keep using older cassettes without a format break or to back up recordings digitally.
