Sony TC-WR870 — Double Cassette Deck with Quick Reverse on both decks, two recording transports, HX Pro and high-speed dubbing

When the music should simply keep playing, the Sony TC-WR870 is in its element: at the end of the tape each of the two transports reverses by itself, and in relay mode deck B takes over seamlessly once deck A has finished. The result is long recordings and hours of playback across several cassettes without anyone having to intervene.

At the same time the double deck is a fully-fledged recorder, because both transports handle recording as well as playback. That makes it a versatile tool for copies, mixtapes and digitising larger cassette collections — and the solid factory figures show that Sony did not trade convenience for sound quality. Connection is quick: a free tape loop on the amplifier is all it needs.
