JVC XL-R5000 — CD recorder with integrated 3-disc CD changer

Three playback trays on the left, a recording drive on the right: the XL-R5000 combines a 3-disc CD changer and a CD recorder in a single chassis. Copies onto CD-R or CD-RW are made entirely inside the unit — the source disc sits in the changer, the blank in the recorder, no second player required. Once finalised, discs burned here play back in the changer as well.

The unit appeals to anyone compiling their own discs or preserving recordings from vinyl, tape and other sources on CD. Operation relies on separate transport keys for changer and recorder plus the central multi-jog dial, while the display keeps track of titles, times and recording status.
