Yamaha MDX-9 MiniDisc Recorder – digital recording and playback of MiniDiscs

Three separate digital inputs set the Yamaha MDX-9 apart from the rest of the MiniDisc field: two optical jacks and one coaxial input take CD players, DAT recorders or other digital sources directly, with an optical output passing the signal on. Synchro Recording and Time Rescue assist while taping, and a broad editing suite with Move, Erase, Divide, Combine and Undo allows tracks to be reworked right on the unit.

In mono the deck records up to 148 minutes, in stereo up to 74; a sampling rate converter for 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz handles varying digital sources. That makes the MDX-9 especially suited to anyone connecting several digital devices at once and wanting to edit MiniDiscs on the deck itself.
