JVC SR-VS20 – Combination recorder for Mini DV and Super VHS ET

Two tape formats in one chassis: on the left the unit takes Mini DV cassettes, on the right sits a Super VHS deck with S-VHS ET technology. This lets the JVC SR-VS20 bridge the gap between digital camcorder footage and the analogue video archive on the shelf. Copying runs directly between the two decks – towards DV as well as towards VHS – with no second recorder or cabling required.

Mini DV tapes can be exchanged digitally with a camcorder or computer via the i.LINK socket on the front, while VHS recordings can be dubbed onto Mini DV and so brought into the digital domain. In the other direction, holiday and family films travel from camcorder tape to S-VHS or VHS cassette, for example as a copy to pass on.
