Sony MDS-S39 MiniDisc Recorder – compact MiniDisc deck with optical digital and analogue RCA connections

In a slim mini format, the Sony MDS-S39 packs the full range of MiniDisc functions into a smaller footprint: an optical digital input and output are on board alongside analog line RCA jacks, and recording runs in ATRAC, in stereo or mono, with a manually adjustable level. An AMS dial with push-enter handles track search and editing, while the front-panel headphone output lets you monitor playback directly. At 280 x 90 x 285 mm and 2.8 kg, it stays compact enough for smaller shelves.

That makes the compact deck a fit for tight rack spaces too, equally suited to digital transfers from other equipment and to classic recording via an amplifier or tuner.
