Yamaha CRX-550 CD receiver – CD, FM tuner, USB and stereo amplifier with subwoofer output in micro format

Compact in build, yet equipped with everything a small stereo system needs: the Yamaha CRX-550 combines a CD drive, an FM radio and a stereo amplifier that drives two speakers directly. The front panel is neatly laid out – the input selector knob on the left, the large volume control on the right, and between them the wide display and the transport buttons, which also step through the station presets in radio mode. On the top panel, a USB port sits next to a dock recess.

The receiver is made for rooms where a full-size system will not fit: a study, a kitchen, a bedroom or a holiday flat. Two rear AUX inputs bring in a TV, a turntable with phono preamp or a smartphone, and anyone wanting more depth can connect an active bass speaker to the subwoofer output. For quiet listening, the headphone jack on the front is always at hand.
