Yamaha RX-V390RDS — AV receiver with Dolby Pro Logic, DSP sound fields and RDS tuner

TV sound with dialogue from the centre and ambience from behind, plus FM radio and an input for your turntable: this Natural Sound receiver from Yamaha combines a stereo system and home cinema in one classically operated chassis. Alongside the two front channels with 60 watts each into 8 ohms, it drives a centre and a rear channel. The built-in decoder distributes surround-encoded film soundtracks from video cassette, laserdisc or TV across up to five speakers.

For music the RX-V390RDS remains a full stereo receiver with tone controls, two switchable speaker pairs and a phono input. It suits a living-room setup in which video recorder, CD player, tape deck and turntable meet at one unit and the TV receives its picture via the monitor output.
