Sony SLV-815 — VHS video recorder with jog shuttle and 7-head drive

Reviewing, dubbing and digitising old VHS tapes — that is what the SLV-815 is made for. The jog shuttle dial sits in the fold-out control drawer at the front. It lets you locate scenes frame-accurately, from freeze frame through slow motion to fast picture search, without reaching for the remote. That way you find the right starting point before the transfer to a computer or a second machine begins.

The 7-head drive delivers hi-fi stereo sound and steady playback, in long play mode too. For your own edits Sony provided a rotating erase head and insert functions; via Control L (LANC) and Control S the machine can be linked up with a camcorder. If you wish, the line and microphone inputs let you use the SLV-815 for audio-only recordings.
