Yamaha DVD-S2700 in black — Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio and home cinema in one player

Brushed black fascia, solid metal feet, classic full-size format: outwardly this player presents itself as a typical component from Yamaha's Natural Sound range. Behind the drawer works a transport that handles film and music discs with equal care — the audio section of the DVD-S2700 is engineered to reproduce high-resolution music formats with the precision of a dedicated CD player, while the video side drives modern flat screens digitally.

That makes the unit attractive for two setups at once: in the living-room cinema it handles film playback as a source for the AV receiver, while in a stereo system it serves the SACD, DVD-Audio and CD collection. Covering both worlds with one machine saves the second player in the rack. Recording is not part of its brief — this Yamaha is a pure playback device.
