Teac CD-P4100 — CD player with 1-bit converter and two line outputs

Two separate line outputs on the rear panel reveal what Teac designed the CD-P4100 for: the player feeds an amplifier and a recording device at the same time, with no need to swap cables between them. Conversion is handled by a 1-bit D/A converter with multi-stage noise shaping; via the optical digital output the signal can alternatively be passed on unchanged to an external DAC or a receiver with a digital input.

The two-tier brushed front panel stays uncluttered: transport keys top right, pause and stop below them, the headphone output with its own level control on the left. Anyone running a classic stereo chain with a cassette deck gets a matching source here; the sync socket on the rear is intended for use with a suitably equipped Teac deck. The CD-P4100 has no recording function, it is a pure playback machine for an existing CD collection.

Highlights & Features

1-bit D/A converter with Multi-Stage Noise Shaping Technology.
Optical digital output (TOSLINK) for connection to a DAC, receiver or amplifier with a digital input.
Two analogue line outputs (Line Out 1 and 2) via RCA: amplifier and recording device can be connected in parallel.
Headphone output (6.3 mm jack) with its own level control on the front panel.
CD/Deck Sync socket (3.5 mm jack) for synchronised dubbing with a suitably equipped Teac cassette deck.
Infrared receiver on the front; basic functions (open/close, track skip, play, pause, stop) directly on the unit.
