Sony WM-FX10 — Walkman radio cassette player with FM/AM radio and Anti-Rolling Mechanism

Cassette or radio – with this black Sony Walkman you choose between the two sources on the move just as you like. The top of the lid carries a tuning scale for FM and AM (medium wave), below it sits the window of the cassette compartment with the print “Anti-Rolling Mechanism”. The handy housing is black throughout, and the belt clip on the back keeps the player securely on a waistband or bag strap. According to the rating label it is a radio cassette player: compact cassettes are played back, there is no recording function.

The WM-FX10 suits anyone who wants to listen to mixtapes and audio-book cassettes on the go and switch to a favourite station in between – on the way to work, out for a walk or in the garden. Two AA batteries are enough to run it; at home a suitable power adapter can be connected to the DC IN jack instead.

Highlights & Features

Radio section for FM and AM (medium wave): the tuning scale on top of the lid shows the selected frequency, listening is via headphones.
Cassette playback: tapes run in the compartment behind the large window, so the tape movement always stays in view.
Anti-Rolling Mechanism (printed on the lid): Sony transport design intended to reduce speed fluctuations caused by movement while carrying the player.
Controls grouped compactly on one side of the housing: several buttons plus a thumbwheel, easy to reach with the thumb.
Battery operation with 2 AA batteries in the compartment on the back; alternatively operation via an external power adapter at the DC IN jack.
Sony belt clip on the back with LIFT/RELEASE catch for attaching to a belt or bag.
Pure playback device without recording function.
