Harman Kardon BDS570 – Blu-ray Home Cinema Receiver 5.1 in White (without speakers)

Anyone planning a slim home cinema without a stack of components will find a Blu-ray drive, a 5.1 amplifier and an FM tuner combined in the Harman Kardon BDS570, housed in a flat white cabinet about ten centimetres high. Discs slide into a slot on the front – there is no tray – and a large rotary knob next to the display sets the volume. Offered here is this main unit alone; speakers and subwoofer are not included.

The unit suits anyone who already owns a speaker set with centre and active subwoofer or wants to keep using their own 6-ohm speakers. A games console or cable receiver passes through via HDMI, TV sound returns to the receiver over the Audio Return Channel, and for late film nights a pair of headphones on the front socket is all it takes.

Highlights & Features

Receiver without speakers: five speaker outputs (front L/R, centre, surround L/R; screw terminals, 6 ohms) plus an RCA output and trigger socket for an active subwoofer – speakers are not included.
